A Casper College admissions counselor will be at DHS on Thursday, December 11th from 1:30 - 3:30 in the media center. She will be helping seniors complete the admission process to Casper College. To sign up for a time slot, please stop in the guidance office.

There will be an opportunity to take the ASVAB test on January 8th at 8:15 in the upper aud. Please stop in the guidance office to sign up.

FBLA:  Remember to pay your dues ($20) by Thursday or you will not be able to get your FBLA t-shirt this year. 

Students taking the ACT this Saturday:  Please report to the MEDIA CENTER at DHS no later than 7:45 a.m.  PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE IN LOCATION!  Testing begins promptly at 8:00 a.m.  No food/drink is permissible in the testing location.   Bring an approved calculator.  Pencils will be provided.  Eat a nutritious breakfast.

Douglas Bearcats have advanced to the 4A Football State Championship Game!

DHS will play the Buffalo Bison on November 15, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the DHS Stadium.

Ticket prices are set by the WHSAA and are as follows:
ADULTS:               $6.00

STUDENTS:           $4.00

Advance ticket sales go on sale on Tuesday, November 11th at the Douglas Rec Center Desk or the DHS Activity Office.  Student ticket prices will be half price compliments of the Activity Office.  Students wearing “Bearcat Blue” will be admitted for the $2.00 price the day of the game.    GO BEARCATS!!!

 

4A State Championship Football shirts will be on sale starting Tuesday afternoon.  Place your order at the ACTIVITY OFFICE!  These shirts will be in Bearcat colors.  Here are the prices:

All items ordered will be delivered to Douglas on Friday afternoon!!

 

Girls’ basketball Parent Meeting, Thursday night at 6:00pm in the Rec. 

 

On Monday the 17th, students will get their incentive passes to have open campus lunch.  4th hour teachers can let these students out several minutes early 4th hour to get their pass checked by me in the office/commons or Jay Rhoades down by the doors leading out to the student parking lot.  The office secretaries can also sign the passes.

A UW admissions rep will be here at DHS on Tuesday, November 18th from 9:00 - 1:00 for Early Admission Day. Stop in the Guidance Office and sign up for a 15 minute appointment. The admissions rep. will be in the media center to meet with students. You will need to bring a completed UW application, a transcript, and $40.00 for the application fee.

A tutoring program is starting for all interested DHS students. Starting October 14th there will be a tutor available in the media center on Tuesdays/Thursdays from 6:00 - 7:30 pm and Wednesdays from 3:30 - 5:00 pm.

REMINDER:  BEAT students who plan on volunteering to assist with the Special Olympics activities on Oct. 16 and 17 needs to have their permission slips returned to the Guidance Office ASAP!!!

Health Department, 442 Center, by appointment, 358-2536.  Students age 18 or older may attend the Flu Vaccine Clinic for School Staff on Wednesday, October 29th at Douglas Rec. Center from 2-5pm.  The cost of the flu vaccine is $20 and will be split between Converse County School District #1 and you.  If you are interested in having your student vaccinated please call the clinic and set up an appointment.  Students under the age of 18 must have a parent accompany them to their appointment or have the attached waiver signed by a parent/guardian and bring to the appointment with $10.  The deadline to receive your flu shot is December 19th, 2008.   If you should have any questions please contact the Douglas High School Activities Office, 358-4040.
