Checkout Sheets will be given to 1st hour teachers on Thursday, May 29th.  If you are not planning on giving a final exam, make sure you have graded activities up to Thursday, May 29th.  If you give a final, you still could have additional assignments up to Thursday also.  Students will only be allowed to check out of classes during the hour they have the class.  It is also important to keep the students in the classroom for the entire hour on the days before Thursday May 29th.

There will be a brief sign-up meeting for all boys and girls interested in running cross country this fall....immediately after school on Thursday in the commons.

There will be a football meeting for all boys planning to play football in the fall on Thursday, after school in the upper aud.

Any upcoming Junior and Senior students taking concurrent credit classes next year:
For College English Composition, Literature:   Must have an 18 or higher score on the English part of the ACT, and a 3.0 GPA         

For concurrent Trig, Stats, College Algebra, Chem II:   Must have a 23 or higher on the Math part of the ACT, and a 3.0 GPA

If these ACT requirements are not met, you need to take a COMPASS test at EWC.  Sign up sheets are in the Guidance Office.  The dates are May 20 and 21 after school.  If you are unable to make either of those dates, please contact EWC to set up a private appointment on another day.  There are test prep materials online.  The fee for the COMPASS is $15.00.  Please contact the Guidance Office or EWC if you have questions.

Girls/Boys Swim Team Meeting:  There will be a boys and girls swim team meeting Wednesday after school in the Rec. Center Lobby with Coach Wass.

Register now for the Douglas Power Meet.  You may pick up forms from Mr. Bath or Mr. Dryden.  The meet will be held May 20th at 3:30 pm.  It is 20 dollars and prizes will be awarded for age and weight divisions.

Anyone interested in cheerleading sign-up in the guidance office—there will be a cheer meeting Tuesday, May 20th, in the Rec center lobby.  Tryouts will be 5/21, 22, 23.

Opportunities are now available for interested students to apply online for the Rotary Youth Leadership Camp (RYLA).  July 13 - July 18 are the dates for students from around the region to go to the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, Colorado, and experience leadership activities, make new friends, and have a great time!  Please see Guidance if interested.

JOB OPPORTUNITY:  Students ages 15 and up:  R & G Aircraft Service, along with Converse County Airport, has a need for workers on weekends and sporadically throughout the week in the summertime.  Duties include fueling airplanes, cleaning, maintenance on the property, painting, weed eating, etc.  Please contact Barb or Steve at 358-3527.  Pay ranges from $8-10 per hour depending on if you work for Conv. Co airport or R & G Aircraft.

Reminder senior sendoff 5/18– There will be a dance from 9:00 - 11:30 PM for all High School students in the back gym of the rec center..  cost is $2.00 for underclassmen seniors are free.  11:30 p.m. – 3:30 a.m. Seniors Only!!

    Locker Checkout last day (May 29th) after attendance1st hour, release the students to their lockers.  After lockers are cleaned out, students will go to each of their teachers to have their sign out sheet completed. 

    7th hour teachers need to collect their checkout sheets and return to Kelly
    Teachers keep track of fines and book fees....turn in to Bev
    Prior checkout dates will need administrative approval
    Grades will be withheld until all fines and fees are paid.
    Students still in the building after 10:00 will need to stay in the commons

From now until the end of the year no student is allowed in the building from 3:45 until 4:30 unless you are in detention or working with a teacher.  After 4:30 no student is allowed in the building unless it is official school business.  No loitering will be tolerated. 

Students not fulfilling assigned detention or community service will receive OSS or will start the next school year w/those disciplines. 

Register now for the Douglas Power Meet.  You may pick up forms from Mr. Bath or Mr. Dryden.  The meet will be held May 20th at 3:30 pm.  It is 20 dollars and prizes will be awarded for age and weight divisions.

Anyone interested in cheerleading sign-up in the guidance office—there will be a cheer meeting Tuesday, May 20th, in the Rec center lobby.  Tryouts will be 5/21, 22, 23.

Students interested in running for a student class office, sign up sheets are in the office.  Deadline for student class offices is Tuesday, May 20, 2008 - No late sign ups will be accepted.  Voting will take place on Wednesday, May 21st during class meetings.  Any questions please see Mrs. Seeds

Students:  Summer job openings continue to be listed on the bulletin board by Mr. Dutcher's office.  Newest one includes having a driver's license and working as a general laborer for Mr. Mark Nicol at CNM Plumbing.

JOB OPPORTUNITY:  Students ages 15 and up:  R & G Aircraft Service, along with Converse County Airport, has a need for workers on weekends and sporadically throughout the week in the summertime.  Duties include fueling airplanes, cleaning, maintenance on the property, painting, weedeating, etc.  Please contact Barb or Steve at 358-3527.  Pay rangesfrom $8-10 per hour depending on if you work for Conv. Co airport or R & G Aircraft.

DHS Student Council is preparing for the upcoming Student Body Officer elections and student class officer elections.  The sign up sheet for student body is located in the office; the DEADLINE to sign up for Student Body Elections is Tuesday, May 13th.  No late sign ups will be accepted.  Student Body elections will be televised and voted on Thursday May 15th.  In order to run for Student Body President you must have served one year on student council.  Any questions please see Mrs. Seeds.

Baccalaureate will be held at 6:00 on 5/17—notice the time change.

Registration for the June 10th ACT is due by Friday, May 9th.  Go to actstudent.org to register and look at test prep information.

2. Coach Rhoades had two football jerseys taken out of the equipment room.  It is both the blue and the white jersey for number 61.  These jerseys’s can be returned with no questions asked plus a $25 reward.

From now until the end of the year no student is allowed in the building from 3:45 until 4:30 unless you are in detention or working with a teacher.  After 4:30 no student is allowed in the building unless it is official school business.  No loitering will be tolerated. 

Students not fulfilling assigned detention or community service will receive OSS or will start the next school year w/those disciplines. 

Seniors:  remember, fines must be paid before receiving your diploma or go on the class trip!

All Freshmen interested in the Congressional Award program need to return their signed registration sheets to the Guidance Office as soon as possible.

Baccalaureate will be held at 6:00 on 5/17—notice the time change.

The senior trip has been moved to May 13th.  The choir concert will be held on May 12th

SENIORS:  Please inform the Guidance Office of any scholarships you receive, whether or not you accept them.  We would like to recognize your awards on Awards Day.

Register now for the Douglas Power Meet.  You may pick up forms from Mr. Bath or Mr. Dryden.  The meet will be held May 20th at 3:30 pm.  It is 20 dollars and prizes will be awarded for age and weight divisions.

Anyone interested in cheerleading sign-up in the guidance office—there will be a cheer meeting Tuesday, May 20th, in the high school commons area.

DHS Student Council is preparing for the upcoming Student Body Officer elections and student class officer elections.  The sign up sheet for student body is located in the office; the DEADLINE to sign up for Student Body Elections is Tuesday, May 13th.  No late sign ups will be accepted.  Student Body elections will be televised and voted on Thursday May 15th.  In order to run for Student Body President you must have served one year on student council.  Any questions please see Mrs. Seeds.

1. Football Players get shoe order forms and Camp forms to Becky Pexton ASAP

2. Coach Rhoades had two football jerseys taken out of the equipment room.  It is both the blue and the white jersey for number 61.  These jersey's can be returned with no questions asked plus a $25 reward.

Students in Grades 10 and 11:
Opportunities are now available for interested students to apply online for the Rotary Youth Leadership Camp (RYLA).  July 13 - July 18 are the dates for students from around the region to go to the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, Colorado, and experience leadership activities, make new friends, and have a great time!  Please see Guidance if interested.
