Anyone planning on attending Prom:  You must be academically eligible to attend Prom.  Before buying tickets and prom apparel be sure that you are eligible.  If you have any questions please see Mr. Lake.

The Rec Center is offering a Swim Lesson Instructor Class to begin on Feb 10, being swim lesson instructor is fun, rewarding and great pay.  For more information see Deb at the pool office.

Seniors:  Central Wyoming College in Riverton, Wyoming is announcing its Application/Scholarship Day at DHS!!  Please sign up for a time in Guidance.  The representative will be here on Tuesday, February 19, 2008, during all lunches!!

The junior class is sponsoring a dodge ball tournament on 2/20.  Teams will have 8 people and cost $30 per team.  Signup in the office by 2/15. 

JUNIOR CHEER CAMP for students in the 8th grade or under WILL BE HELD 2/9 IN THE BACK GYM REGISTRATION AT 8:00 a.m.  Cost $20. 

February 2-9 is National Teen Dating Violence Awareness Week.  Last chance to win!  Thanks to all who participated in our little pop quiz’s  Special thanks to the high school for letting us share, for all the teachers that have taken the time each day to read them and the office ladies for getting them to classes.  Now the Teen dating Bill of Right.  I have the right:  To always be treated w/respect. To be in a healthy relationship, to not be hurt physically or emotionally, to refuse sec or affection at any time, to have friends and activities apart from my boyfriend or girlfriend.  I pledge to:  Always treat my boyfriend or girlfriend w/respect.  Never hurt my boyfriend or girlfriend physically, verbally or emotionally.  Respect my girlfriend’s or boyfriend’s decision concerning sex and affection.  Not be controlling or manipulative in my relationship.  Accept responsibility for myself and my actions. 

To be Eligible for the drawing:  If you agree—sign the dating bill of rights at the office names will go into the drawing.

NEW TEEN GROUP STARTING: Facilitated by the Converse County Coalition Against Violence:
For teens ages 12 - 18:  The purpose of "Becoming the Best" Teen Group is to build self-esteem, character, leadership and self-sufficiency.  The teens will be engaged in activities designed to establish the integrity and self-respect needed to improve themselves and the world around them.  Curriculum by Robert M. Orndorff and videos from Michael Pritchard will be utilized.  The group will meet at the First United Methodist Church, 136 S. 5th St. in Douglas every Monday and Wednesday from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for 16 weeks starting Feb. 4th through May 21st.  Food will be provided!  Please pick up a brief application in the DHS Guidance Office.

Students taking the ACT this Saturday, Feb. 9th:
Please check in at the DHS Guidance Office between 7:30 and 7:45 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9th.  Bring an approved calculator and your confirmation ticket.  No food/drink will be allowed in the testing rooms.  English department classrooms will be used for this test administration.  Contact the Guidance Office if you have any questions.

SUMMER OPPORTUNITY For Juniors or Seniors
Interested in working on a UW agricultural science research project for 8 - 12 weeks at the Sheridan R&E Center????  Pay is $10 -12 per hour and dorm rooms are available at Sheridan College.  Students can also receive 3 hours of college credit.  Contact Justin Moss
